How do I create a business email with my own domain?

Updated Hostnali team

Short answer

Register a domain (for example yourbusiness.co.za), get email hosting or any web hosting plan, then create the address (such as [email protected]) under Email Accounts in cPanel. You can read it in webmail, Outlook or the Gmail app on your phone.

An address on your own domain looks professional, builds trust and stays yours even if staff change.

Step by step

  1. Get a domain, for example a .co.za domain for R 150 a year.
  2. Get email hosting. Every Hostnali web hosting plan includes unlimited email accounts, so your website and email share one plan. See business email hosting.
  3. Create the address: in cPanel, open Email Accounts → Create, type the name (info, sales, yourname), set a strong password and save.
  4. Start using it: open webmail straight away, or add it to your phone and Outlook.

Good addresses to create

  • info@ and sales@ for customers.
  • yourname@ for each staff member.
  • accounts@ for invoices and payments.

Make sure your email arrives

SPF and DKIM records are set up for domains that use our nameservers, so other mail servers trust your messages and they don’t land in spam. Add a DMARC record for extra protection; our team can help.

Tips

  • Use forwarders to send copies of sales@ to several people.
  • Set an autoresponder when you’re away.
  • Never share one password across staff; create an account for each person.
