Reseller guide

Choosing a reseller plan

Updated Hostnali team

All reseller guides

In short

Count the clients you expect in your first year, estimate their disk use, and pick the plan with enough cPanel accounts and space for that, with room to grow. Start smaller rather than larger: upgrades are instant and nobody has to move.

What to look at

WhatWhy it matters
cPanel accountsHow many clients you can host
Disk spaceShared by all your clients’ files, email and databases
BandwidthTraffic for all your clients’ sites
LevelReseller, or master reseller to sell reseller accounts
Billing cycleYearly costs less per month

A quick way to size it

  1. Clients in year one: say 20.
  2. Average space each: a small business site with email uses 1–3 GB; an online shop more.
  3. Add headroom: about 30% for growth and email.

20 clients × 2 GB = 40 GB, plus headroom ≈ 52 GB. Choose the plan just above that.

Email takes more space than websites

Mailboxes grow every month. If your clients use a lot of email, budget more space, or move heavy users to email hosting.

Every plan includes

  • WHM for you and cPanel for every client.
  • White-label branding: private nameservers and your logo.
  • LiteSpeed web servers and NVMe storage, free SSL, daily backups.
  • A free WHMCS licence (discounted on Budget Reseller) and the free domain reseller program.
  • 24/7 support for you.

Reseller or master reseller?

If you only sell to end clients, reseller hosting. If other businesses want to resell under you, master reseller. See reseller vs master reseller.

Upgrading later

Upgrade in the client area when you approach your limits: more accounts and space straight away, and your clients stay where they are. Yearly reseller plans also come with a 30-day money-back guarantee.
