What is cPanel?

Updated Hostnali team

Short answer

cPanel is the control panel that comes with your web hosting. From one dashboard you create email accounts, install WordPress, upload files, manage databases and domains, and restore backups, without technical skills.

cPanel is the world’s most widely used hosting control panel, and it’s included with every Hostnali web hosting plan.

What you can do in cPanel

  • Email: create addresses like [email protected], set up forwarders and autoresponders, and open webmail.
  • WordPress and apps: install WordPress and hundreds of other apps in one click with Softaculous.
  • Files: upload and edit your website’s files in the File Manager, or connect with FTP.
  • Databases: create MySQL databases and manage them with phpMyAdmin.
  • Domains: add more domains and subdomains to the same plan.
  • Security: free SSL installs automatically; manage it under SSL/TLS.
  • Backups: restore files, databases or email from daily backups yourself.
  • Apps: run Node.js and Python apps, and schedule tasks with cron jobs.

How do I log in?

Log in to the Hostnali client area, open your hosting service and click Log in to cPanel. You don’t need a separate password.

cPanel for resellers and servers

  • With reseller hosting you get WHM to create cPanel accounts for your own clients.
  • On a VPS you can add a cPanel/WHM licence at checkout.
